Rebellion Racing recently announced, via their Facebook page, that they will be selling their Lola-Toyota LMP1 race car! The car saw its final campaign towards the end of November during the 6 hours of Bahrain. Lola did cease production of its LMP1 cars last year so this particular chassis is one of the last to leave the factory.
The car is a Lola B12/60 Coupé. Lola built the car as a bespoke, carbon fibre racer for customer teams. It has been campaigned successfully for a number of years now, achieving its highest rankings at Petit Le Mans 2012 and 2013. It features a carbon fibre composite monocoque, upgraded F1-standard CFD cluster, carbon fibre bodywork and all the usual configurations you would expect from an LPM1 car!
The engine is a Toyota sourced RV8KLM 3.4 litre V8 powerplant featuring an output of just over 500 hp. It is of course an excellent opportunity for a collector to purchase a piece of racing history!
For the 2014 season, the Swiss Rebellion Racing team has entered a partnership with Oreca to design and build their own LMP1 car, the Rebellion R-One. The Rebellion R-One will continue to use the Toyota engine for the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship.
