To debut at NAIAS
According to a Ford Authority report, the upcoming 2015 F-150 will make use of a newly developed twin-turbo V6 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine.
On Christmas day we heard rumors about the new F-150 getting a 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine and now Ford Authority says the V6 motor will develop 320 bhp (239 kW) and a peak torque of 375 lb-ft (508 Nm). The engine offering will be positioned above the entry-level V6 3.7-liter expected to churn 300 bhp (224 kW) and 280 lb-ft (379 Nm).
The most powerful engine will continue to be the V6 3.5-liter EcoBoost sitting above the thirstier V8 5.0-liter Coyote which will likely carry over the updates from the new Mustang GT.
The 2015 Ford F-150 will be officially revealed in a couple of weeks at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit where it will show its Atlas concept-inspired looks and will reportedly come with a ten-speed automatic gearbox.
