The Shanxi Victory Jinchi X1 has been revealed in China and it’s basically a shameless clone of the Cadillac Escalade EXT.
Shanxi Victory Group is a state-owned automaker but they don’t seem to care at all about intellectual property as they totally stole the design of the Escalade EXT. While the real deal is powered by a V8 6.0-liter engine, its Chinese offspring will be offered with a modest 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine delivering just 91 bhp (68 kW) and 193 Nm (142 lb-ft).
There will also be a slightly more powerful 2.0-liter gasoline motor outputting 100 bhp (74 kW) and 215 Nm (158 lb-ft). Both of the engines will be coupled to an archaic five-speed manual gearbox.
Another major disappointment will be inside the cabin where you won't find the Escalade's luxurious appointments as the Shanxi Victory Jinchi X1 has one of the dullest cabins seen lately where cheap-looking black plastics dominate the layout.
