Cadillac has officially unveiled the 2016 CTS-V after the teaser photos a couple days ago and it will debut at North American International Auto Show 2015 next month.
In order to compete with other luxury cars, such as the BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG, CTS-V features a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that develops 640hp (477 kW) and 855 Nm (630 lb-ft) of torque. The power is channeled to the rear wheels via a paddle-shift eight-speed automatic transmission, featuring launch control and Performance Algorithm Shifting, which enables the sedan to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96kmh) in 3.7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 200 mph (322 kmh).
The car in front has standard carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber vent, front splitter, while moving further back it has a rear spoiler and rear diffuser for greater aerodynamic performance. In case you want a sportier look the company will offer a Carbon Fiber package that includes a more aggressive front splitter, hood vent, rear diffuser and spoiler.
Moving to the interior there are sueded microfiber accents and matte-finish carbon fiber trim and available Recaro high-performance seats for spirited driving
Advanced safety and parking technologies, including a front curb-view camera system, automatic parking assist, side blind zone alert, forward collision alert, lane keep assist and rear cross traffic alert.
For the new CTS-V, Cadillac engineers also focused heavily on strengthening the car’s structure to improve handling. With this in mind, the 2016 CTS-V makes use a of a prominent front strut tower brace, V-braces in the engine compartment, a strengthened rocker bulkhead, stronger rear cradle-to-rocket braces and an aluminium panel at the front of the chassis alongside upper tie bar-to-bumper braces. All told, the new body of the new Cadillac CTS-V is 25 per cent stiffer than non CTS models.
In the end they also added a sport-tuned suspension, an improved steering system and an electronic limited-slip rear differential. The car also has, Brembo high-performance brake system developed to provide durability, consistency and the capability for track-day performance straight from the factory, while a third-generation Magnetic Ride Control delivering 40-percent faster damping response.
