Chevrolet dealership to give out $420,000 after foolish football bet.

Dealership took out $7,000 worth of insurance, so they won't be on the hook for the full amount

The Settle Seahawks trounced the New York Giants in a 23-0 victory this weekend and that is going to cost Washington-based Jet Chevrolet a pretty penny.

As part of a promotion, the dealership offered 12 different people $35,000 (€25,445) each if the Seahawks shut out the Giants. This seemed like a safe bet as the Giants haven't been shut out at home, in the regular season, since 1995.

However, fate intervened and the dealership lost their $420,000 bet. As one of the dealership's owners told ESPN, "This is crazy, we never expected that we’d actually be giving away the money.”
