BMW bringing updated X5 eDrive concept to New York

Consumes 3.8 liters / 100 km

BMW has announced plans to introduce an updated version of the X5 eDrive concept later this month at the New York Auto Show.
The concept was originally unveiled in September last year at the Frankfurt Motor Show and now a "further refined" version will be exhibited in NY later this month. Specifications have remained the same as the X5 eDrive concept has a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo engine with 245 HP (180 kW) working together with an electric motor that generates 95 HP (70 kW). This hardware setup allows the X5 eDrive concept to offer a combined output of 272 HP (200 kW).
BMW says the concept is capable of returning 61.9 mpg US (74.3 mpg UK or 3.8 liters / 100 km) and offering an electric range of around 20 miles (30 km) during which it can hit a top speed of 75 mph (120 km/h).
At the beginning of the year we heard a rumor about the concept going into production as anxDrive40e model and chances are the production version will make its debut in October at the Paris Motor Show.
