Arriving in China next fall
These leaked design sketches depict MG’s first ever crossover programmed to go on sale next fall in China.
In March at 2013 Auto Shanghai we saw MG's vision of a crossover with the CS Conceptwhich hinted at a likely production version. These design sketches seem to show the first ever crossover to wear the MG badge and will probably be shown officially next April at 2014 Beijing Motor Show. It looks a lot like the concept but has been toned down a little bit to give it a more production-suitable appearance.
Under the hood it will get a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter gasoline engine delivering 200 bhp (149 kW) to both axles through either a standard manual or an optional automatic transmission. The base version will be powered by a smaller 4-cylinder, 1.5-liter motor with 135 bhp (100 kW) taken from the MG5.
Standard goodies on the MG crossover will be a limited slip differential, a transfer case and a height-adjustable hydraulic suspension which will allow the driver to modify the vehicle's ride height.
The MG crossover is programmed to reach Chinese showrooms next fall and soon after it will probably arrive in UK as well.
