Should offer seating for up to seven people
New details are starting to emerge about the BMW X7.
According to Automotive News, the crossover will be launched in 2017 or 2018 and ride on a new platform that will likely be shared the next-generation 5- and 7-Series.
Since the model is being built to battle the Mercedes GL-Class, it will reportedly have three rows of seats and seating for up to seven people. The crossover will reportedly be targeted at U.S. buyers and approximately 50,000 units will be made annually.
While nothing is official, BMW is expected to announce the plans to build the X7 at their Spartanburg plant tomorrow afternoon. The company is also expected to announce plans to expand the plant to increase production to 400,000 units annually.
