0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds
Following an announcement made last month, Callaway has released full details about the upgrade kit created for the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.
The most significant change is underneath the hood where the V8 7.0-liter engine is now developing 652 bhp (486 kW) and 620 lb-ft (839 Nm), up from the series 505 bhp (376 kW) and 481 lb-ft (652 Nm). The hand-built engine is now lighter and comes coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox which enables the model to reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.7 seconds while the quarter mile takes 11.5 seconds at 124 mph (199 km/h).
Callaway also developed an aerodynamic body kit tested in the wind tunnel specifically for the model which comes with carbon ceramic brakes from Brembo and larger Pirelli tires. The Z/28 can also receive race-spec dampers while the major power upgrade was possible thanks to an Eaton TVS supercharger, a high-flow intake and a low-restriction exhaust. Other goodies offered include a dash plaque, key fob, underhood build plaque, exterior badging and embroidered floor mats along with an optional car cover.
Production will be limited to just 10 units and can be had either as a package from 19,995 USD or together with the car from 94,995 USD. It's offered with a three-year / 36,000-mile limited warranty but at additional cost the engine warranty can be expanded to five years / 100,000 miles.
