Debuts in New York
Chevrolet has officially unveiled the 2015 Cruze, ahead of its debut at the New York Auto Show.
Looking instantly recognizable, the facelifted model follows in the footsteps of the Malibu as it adopts a new front bumper, a "dual-port" grille and LED daytime running lights (on LT and LTZ variants). The model also has revised taillights and an updated color palette.
Interior changes are limited but include revised switch gear and improved cupholders which "make it easier to insert and remove cups." The model also gains Siri Eyes Free technology and a Text Message Alert system which can read text messages aloud. Other notable highlights include a seven-inch color touchscreen display, OnStar 4G LTE connectivity and an optional GPS navigation system.
Chevrolet declined to mention any powertrain changes, so engine options will likely include:
- A 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol with 138 bhp (103 kW) and 125 lb-ft (169 Nm) of torque
- A turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder petrol with 138 bhp (103 kW) and 148 lb-ft (200 Nm) of torque
- A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel with 151 bhp (112 kW) and 264 lb-ft (357 Nm) of torque
The 2015 Chevrolet Cruze will go on sale this fall and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
