Ford Escort spied without camouflage

Debuts later this month

The Ford Escort production version has been spied totally undisguised ahead of its debut later this month at Beijing Motor Show.
It was only yesterday when Ford announced a production-ready Escort will be showcased at Beijing Motor Show and now a camo-free car was spied in China, confirming it will looking virtually the same as last year's concept. The vehicle will be manufactured in China by the Chang'an-Ford joint venture and will be offered with turbocharged 1.5- and 1.8-liter gasoline engines.
Ford said the model will be targeting clients who are older and wealthier than the average Focus buyers, while local media is reporting the Escort reboot will be positioned between the Focus and Mondeo in the Blue Oval's lineup. Prices should kick off around 130,000 yuan (20,900 USD) and go up to 170,000 yuan (27,300 USD) for the fully-loaded model.
Set to go up against the Hyundai Mistra, Citroën C4L, Kia K4, Honda Crider and Volkswagen Sagitar, the Ford Escort will go on sale in the second half of the year. There are some chances of seeing the car in Russia and a few Latin American countries but initially it will be a China-only model.
