Audi R18 e-tron quattro to use an improved all-wheel drive system & Motor Generator Unit

System can now work at speeds less than 120 km/h (74 mph)

Audi has announced the 2014 R18 e-tron quattro has been equipped with a new all-wheel drive system which should ensure they remain at the top of their class.
Designed to combat new entries which also feature all-wheel drive, the 2014 R18 e-tron quattro has an improved all-wheel drive system that can work at speeds less than 120 km/h (74 mph). The details are slightly complex but Audi says the car has a "fundamentally new" Motor Generator Unit (MGU) that powers the front wheels. The car also captures kinetic energy, under braking, thanks to an "optimized flywheel energy storage device."
According to Audi Sport Head of Technology Dr. Martin Mühlmeier, “We’ve developed the entire hybrid drive from scratch again for 2014. Specifically, it’s become even lighter and more efficient than before."
