Audi's S1 Sportback pocket rocket races into Geneva with 231 HP

Available also as a three-door

Audi has publicly introduced the S1 Sportback in Geneva this week, ahead of a market release scheduled for the second half of 2014.
Available also as a three-door, the new S1 comes with a meaner body that includes a rear wing along with a quad exhaust which to some people could seem a bit too much for such a small car. It might be petite but it has a big heart as the S1 comes with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder TFSI engine outputting 231 HP (170 kW) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque sent to the firm's traditional quattro AWD system.
The Audi S1 Sportback sprints to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.9 seconds while its three-door sibling does it 0.1s quicker thanks to a slightly lower weight. Both of them ride on 17-inch rims with 215/40 R17 tires and are configured with xenon plus headlights and LED taillights. Stopping power at the front axle comes from 310mm disc brakes equipped with red calipers that have the "S1" logo.
Audi Germany has announced the S1 will cost 29,950 EUR while the five-door Sportback derivative will be priced at 30,800 EUR. Both will go on sale in the second half of the year.
