Goes out with a bang
Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) is reportedly planning to send off the Falcon GT with a limited-run "351" edition.
According to DRIVE, the special edition is planned to go on sale this June, sending out the Falcon GT with a bang as the FPV division will shut down around September. The limited-run model is going to feature an uprated variant of the V8 5.0-liter supercharged engine updated from the current 335 kW to 351 kW (hence the model's designation).
Thanks to the upgraded motor, it will be the quickest Falcon GT ever and is expected to complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in approximately 4.7 seconds. Beside the added power, the special edition is also going to benefit from an array of visual and mechanical tweaks so expect to find a stiffer suspension setup, wider rear tires, six-piston Brembo brakes, along with the compulsory stripes and badges.
While the outgoing Ford Falcon GT costs 64,990 AUD, the "351" limited-run model will cost more and will allegedly be limited to just 500 units.
As a reminder, Ford Australia has announced plans to close local facilities by October 2016.
