2015 BMW M4 Convertible unveiled, debuts in New York

Goes on sale in the United States this summer

BMW has officially unveiled the M4 Convertible ahead of its debut at the New York Auto Show.
Designed to appeal to well-heeled buyers who want to feel the breeze in their hair, the M4 Convertible follows in the footsteps of the M4 Coupe and adopts an aggressive exterior with muscular styling. The most noticeable difference is the power retractable hard top which can be lowered in 20 seconds at speeds up to 11 mph (18 km/h).
The familiar styling continues in the cabin as the model is virtually identical to the coupe. As a result, there's a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel and sport seats which promise to be comfortable and supportive. Other highlights include contrast stitching, an M gearshift and M-branded sill plates.
Like the M4 Coupe, the convertible is powered by a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine that develops 425 bhp (317 kW) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. This enables the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds with the seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission and 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds with the standard six-speed manual. Regardless of which transmission is selected, the M4 Convertible has an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km).
Speaking of performance, the model has an Active M Differential, M compound brakes and an M-tuned electromechanical steering system. Options include an Adaptive M suspension (with COMFORT, SPORT and SPORT+ modes) and M carbon ceramic brakes with gold-painted calipers.
The M4 Convertible will go on sale in the United States this summer and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
