Production has already kicked off
A brand new 2015 BMW X4 was grabbed on camera ahead of the model's first deliveries scheduled for later this year.
Production of the crossover has already started at the firm's Spartanburg assembly plant in South Carolina, United States. Seen here is probably a dealer car and from this angle the design is like a mixture between the 3-Series GT and X3 facelift. Although diversity is always welcomed, adding more and more very similar models will surely cannibalize sales within BMW's lineup.
The BMW X4 is offered with six engines with outputs varying from 184 HP (135 kW) in the 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine to 313 HP (230 kW) in the 6-cylinder, 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo diesel motor.
BMW's latest crossover is 14mm longer and 36mm lower than the X3 upon which is based and comes with a 40:20:40 split rear seat. After folding down the rear seats, X4's cargo capacity will stand at 49.4 cubic feet (1,400 liters).
