2015 Mercedes-Benz M-Class facelift spied inside and out in southern Germany

Could be a hybrid

A prototype of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class facelift was caught on camera by our spies in southern Germany.
The current generation W166 has been on the market since 2011 so naturally time has arrived for a facelift to keep the model fresh and competitive. Seen here is a prototype entirely wrapped around in black and white camouflage indicating Mercedes-Benz has prepared rather significant visual tweaks. It will likely come with a redesigned front fascia equipped with a single-bar grille, different headlights and a modified bumper.
After paying more attention to the interior shot, we noticed this could be the rumored hybrid variant which is expected to join the range along with a ML 400 derivative. The latter will allegedly receive a V6 3.0-liter twin-turbo generating around 330 bhp (246 kW) and 474 Nm (350 lb-ft).
The facelifted M-Class will probably be launched as a 2015 model year so chances are we will see it in October at the Paris Motor Show before going on sale shortly thereafter.
