A prototype of the Mercedes-Benz M-Class facelift was spied while leaving the company's factory in Stuttgart.
The model will go through a moderate makeover which will include a redesigned larger single-bar front grille and updated headlights incorporating the LED daytime running lights. In addition, Mercedes-Benz has also altered the profile character lines while at the back there's a lower bumper hosting the dual exhaust pipes. The taillights are not hidden behind camouflage and have remained unchanged but this could be an early prototype.
For the interior expect to find minor tweaks such as an updated COMAND infotainment system with a larger touchscreen display as well as new trims and materials to keep the cabin fresh.
Engine lineup will likely carry over but there could be a new ML 400 powered by a twin-turbo V6 3.6-liter delivering approximately 330 bhp (246 kW) and 350 lb-ft (474 Nm) of torque. Mercedes-Benz could also be working on a hybrid version since other models in this segment have already received a similar frugal derivative.
A probable reveal is expected to occur at the Paris Motor Show in October before a late 2014 market launch.
