Mercedes-Benz AMG GT name confirmed; September reveal planned

Public debut a month later in Paris

German media is reporting the smaller SLS replacement will receive the AMG GT moniker and will be revealed in September.
Internally codenamed "C 190", Mercedes-Benz's brand new sportscar will receive the AMG GT designation, as implied by previous rumors. The first images with the car will be published online mid-September, ahead of the car's public debut scheduled for early October at the Paris Motor Show. Order books will be opened on October 6 so deliveries should commence by the end of the year or early 2015.
The same report indicates there will actually be two versions of the AMG GT, with output figures hovering somewhere in the region of 600 PS (441 kW). The more powerful variant will complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) task in less than four seconds. It will have an approximate 50:50 weight distribution and will be lighter and with a shorter wheelbase than the outgoing and larger SLS.
