Previewed by Wild Rubis concept
French marque Citroën has released a teaser image of the China-bound DS X7 SUV set to be unveiled this month at Beijing Motor Show.
Previewed last year by the Wild Rubis concept, Citroën is just about ready to introduce the DS X7 created specifically for the Chinese market. The SUV promises to "marry power and refinement" and will reportedly be available with a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine offered with 200 bhp (149 kW) and 275 Nm (202 Nm) as well as in a 163 bhp (121 kW) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) configuration. There should also be a naturally-aspirated 1.8-liter rated at 139 bhp (103 kW) and 170 Nm (125 lb-ft).
Production of the DS X7 will be done in China by the Changan-PSA joint venture and the model will have a starting price of around 160,000 yuan (25,800 USD) which will go up to 200,000 yuan (32,200 USD) for the fully-loaded model. It will ride on the same platform used for the DS5 and DS 5LS which are both manufactured in China.
Also at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, Citroën will unveil a hardcore DS 5LS R powered by a 300 bhp 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo engine.
