Company wants to make sure the standard model is safe first
Porsche CEO Matthias Müller has revealed the launch of the 911 GT3 RS could be delayed as a result of the fire related recall of the standard model.
Speaking to Auto Motor und Sport, Müller said the planned summer launch could be pushed back to a later date. Nothing has been set in stone but the executive wants to make sure the "motor [is] no longer a problem."
As we have previously reported, Porsche will be replacing the engines on all 2014 911 GT3sas a result of two high-profile fires. The company says the engines can be damaged by loose screws on the connecting rod which can cause a leak and result in a fire.
