While both the Mercedes-Benz S 500 and its killer brother from AMG, the S63, hardly leave any room for improvement, there’s one firm that can always be counted on to create an even better Benz. With its new B50 S-Class, Brabus has taken the more toned-down look of the S 500 and charged it with enough energy and performance to take on the best of AMG. The B50 is based on a plug-and-play kit that reworks the S’s ECU, bringing it from 455 horsepower and 516 lb-ft to a whopping 540hp and 605 lb-ft.
Yes, that may be less than the S63’s 585 and 664, but Brabus has created the sort of package that fits those who want to go fast, but do not want to attract too much attention while doing so. Even with the full body kit and Brabus badging, the B50 still offers an elegant sleeper package that’ll run from 0-62 mph in 4.2 seconds.
