According to radars
A McLaren P1 managed to reach 205 mph (330 km/h) during a high-speed drag strip run.
The P1 went up against a Litchfield LM850 Nissan GTR packing 850 bhp (634 kW) on the drag strip at Vmax Hypermax top speed event organized by Auto Vivendi last weekend. On the main straight the P1 driver hit hard the accelerator pedal and managed to reach 205 mph (330 km/h) according to the radars while the supercar's digital speedometer showed 211 mph (340 km/h).
When McLaren unveiled the P1 they said it has an electronically-capped top speed of 217 mph (350 km/h) so the driver was very close to hitting the limiter.
As if the standard P1 wasn't already very impressive, reports are indicating McLaren is plotting a track-only version that will be lighter, more powerful and probably with a more aerodynamically-optimized body – ingredients necessary to go up against the LaFerrari XX.
