Audi considering TT-based family car

Could be a sedan or a shooting brake

Audi's technical boss Ulrich Hackenberg has announced the Ingolstadt-based automaker is taking into consideration adding a family car in the all-new TT family.

Audi already warned us about a TT family expansion and a possible candidate would have to be a family car, although Hackenberg didn't specify the sort of body style we should expect. He did however say "could the TT be extended as a family car?" which makes us wonder where such a model would be positioned in relation to the firm's A3 and A4 sedans.

Another solution could be a shooting brake as seen in the concept showcased back in January at NAIAS in Detroit. Such a derivative would make more sense compared to just another sedan which would probably cannibalize sales in Audi's continuously growing lineup.
