Renault-Caterham joint venture officially canceled, both cars will live on

Renault's version out in 2016

Renault has told union leaders in France the joint venture with Caterham will be terminated at the beginning of next month, thus confirming a rumor which emerged several days ago.
Renault and Caterham have apparently decided to part ways but development of both cars will continue separately. This decision will not affect the 300 people involved in a small series production at the Dieppe, France factory since they are busy putting together the Clio RS until 2018 as a result of a new signed agreement.
The highly anticipated Alpine revival is slated to come out in 2016 but it's not known at this point whether it will still share its hardware with Caterham's variant. Apparently the cause of this feud is related to Renault's decision to prolong the car's styling development which didn't allow Caterham to move on even though they finished their job for quite some time.
