Volkswagen Golf R Variant spied flexing its muscles once again at the 'Ring

Could be out early 2015

Our spies managed to grab on camera once again the Volkswagen Golf R Variant prototype while testing on the Nürburgring in Germany.
This could be the first time ever R derivative of the Golf Variant but at this moment it's not known whether Volkswagen plans on putting the model into production. Most likely it will happen since such a model requires minimal development work for Volkswagen's engineers so we won't be surprised if it will be unveiled in October at the Paris Motor Show before going on sale towards the end of the year or early 2015.
At its heart will be the Golf R hatchback's four-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbo engine outputting 300 HP (221 kW) and a maximum torque of 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) sent to the 4MOTION all-wheel drive system through a 6-speed manual or an optional 6-speed DSG.
Look for a starting price somewhere in the region of 40,000 EUR taking into account thehatchback costs 38,325 EUR at home in Germany.
