Alfa Romeo to introduce seven models by 2018

Large SUV planned

Auto Bild has issued a report about Fiat's plans to put Alfa Romeo back on the map in the years to come.
Besides the already confirmed 4C Spider due in 2015, Alfa Romeo is planning to introduce no less than seven models by 2018, starting out with the Spider in 2016 which will share platform with the next-gen Mazda MX-5 Miata. Up next will be sedan and wagon versions of the Giulia due in 2017 and Alfetta a year. The Italian marque is also working on a crossover slated for a 2017 release and a larger SUV due most likely in 2018.
These new models will ride on a newly developed RWD/AWD architecture named Giorgio with which Alfa Romeo wants to increase annual sales from last year's 100,000 units to a minimum of 500,000 cars probably towards the end of the decade. The same report mentions replacements for the MiTo and Giulietta hatchbacks are not being considered.
Official details will be announced on May 6 when Fiat is going to introduce a new industrial plan including scheduled investments and all the models the group will launch.
