Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG confirmed for early next year with twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine

Could have up to 500 HP

AMG product chief Tobias Moers confirmed the new C63 AMG will be out in early 2015 with a newly developed V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo gasoline engine.
Rumors about the all-new C63 AMG getting a twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine have now been confirmed and the new motor will be the result of joining two of AMG's 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo engines found inside the high-performance versions of the A-Class lineup (A45 AMG, CLA45 AMG and GLA45 AMG).
The new model is "about a year" away according to Tobias Moers who said AMG models usually have more power than rivals. Since the recently introduced 2014 BMW M3 Sedan / M4 Coupe have 431 HP (317 kW), we expect at least 450 HP (331 kW) from the 2015 C63 AMG and up to 500+ HP (368 kW) with the optional performance package.
On a side note, reports are indicating Mercedes-Benz will install the engine in the SLC which will allegedly be introduced on July 20.
