Fast N' Loud Restored Ferrari F40 Sells for $740k

Gas Monkey Garage did an awesome job restoring the classic Fezza.
$742,500 is an exceptionally good price for a 1991 Ferrari F40, especially one with just a single previous owner and 7,148 miles on the clock. But that’s all that the bidder at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction paid for this particular model. The reason for the knock-down price is due to it undergoing a major restoration, which some of you may recognize from the TV series Fast N’ Loud.

Originally painted red, the F40 was involved in an accident in 2011. Extensive damage to the frame meant it was beyond repair, but the guys at Gas Monkey Garage decided it had the skills to bring it back to life. So after buying it for $400,000, the car was disassembled down to the bare chassis before rebuilding it “better, straighter, lighter and faster” than before. Modifications included rebuilt turbos, Tubi exhaust, aluminum flywheel, custom Penske Racing adjustable shocks, HRE three-piece alloys and Kevlar clutch pack. The F40’s 2.9-liter twin-turbo V8 was also reworked to deliver 550 hp, up from 471 hp.
