Due before the end of the year
Our spies have sent us a fresh batch of photos with the second generation of the Mercedes-Benz GLK testing in cold climates.
The new GLK will utilize the same architecture as the recently unveiled C-Class and will be bigger than the current generation since Mercedes-Benz wants a clear separation between the GLK and the GLA compact crossover. All spy photos reveal the new GLK will adopt a longer wheelbase and will also be a bit wider which in return should provide a more spacious interior.
Mercedes-Benz plans on engineering the GLK for right-hand drive markets and will also modify the exterior to make it more attractive in the eyes of the younger audience. Despite the heavy camo, we already can see a more sloping roofline which should provide the crossover with a sportier silhouette.
Since Mercedes-Benz now has AMG versions for most of its models, we expect the second-gen GLK to receive a similar derivative sometime in 2015. The regular model will be unveiled before the end of the year.
