But a Veyron successor is on the horizon.
Ever since the Bugatti Galibier concept debuted back in 2009 (yes, it’s been that long), there’s been a seemingly never ending stream of rumors regarding its potential production. Fact: it's not going to happen, as we previously reported. There’s also been talk regarding a potential “Super Veyron” that would be above the already insane Super Sport. But now we have official word (again) from Bugatti boss Wolfgang Schreiber that neither of those is going to happen.
We will not produce a ‘Super Veyron’ or Veyron Plus, definitely. There will be no more power." In regards to a production-spec Galibier, Schreiber stated that "We have talked many, many times about the Galibier, but this car will not come because it would confuse our customers. With the Veyron, we placed Bugatti on top of all super-sports car brands in the whole world. Everyone knows that Bugatti is the ultimate super sportscar. There will be no four-door Bugatti."
What will happen for sure is a Veyron successor. Schreiber added that "it has to redefine the benchmarks, and the benchmark today is still the current Veyron." The Veyron will complete its 10-year production run in 2015.
