Lighter and more powerful than the standard model
Mercedes has unveiled the new AMG Vision Gran Turismo Racing Series.
Based on the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo, the Racing Series was designed for the "competitive racing scene of Gran Turismo [6]." As a result, it has been equipped with a fixed rear wing that promises to provide additional downforce on high-speed circuits. The model has also conventional mirrors which replace the CCD cameras on the original concept.
Power is provided by a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine that has been tuned to produce 591 HP (434 kW). It is connected to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission which was "optimized for transmission performance rather than ride comfort."
Detailed performance specifications were not released but the car weighs 1,300 kg (2,866 lbs) which is 85 kg (187 lbs) less than the original model.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo Racing Series was recently added to Gran Turismo 6 and can be obtained by participating in the new seasonal event.
