McLaren 650S images and details surface after private presentation

Debuts in Geneva

Official images of the mid-range McLaren 650S have hit the web, along with preliminary details obtained from a private presentation of the model.
Earlier this week McLaren released a teaser for the 650S and now we have details to offer about the model which will be slotted between the entry-level 12C and the range-topping P1. Jenson Button helped McLaren with the development of the 12C-based 650S which now delivers 650 HP (478 kW) from its twin-turbo V8 3.8-liter engine.
The Sunday Times mentions the vehicle’s suspension, aerodynamics, brakes, transmission and tires have been upgraded for the 650S, a model which will probably replace the 12C since the two models are too similar. Styling-wise, McLaren has applied the front fascia of the P1 onto the 650S while the back of the car has been carried over from the 12C.
The McLaren 650S will be officially unveiled in early March at the Geneva Motor Show.
