Why You Must Drive a Porsche 356 Speedster Before You Die

It's what driving is all about.
Back in the 1950s and early 60s, Americans were falling in love with the two-seat car. With influence coming from the likes of MG and Alfa Romeo, Chevrolet launched the original C1 Corvette. Porsche was still in its infancy but it wasn’t prepared to miss out on that sports car craze, and the 356 was put into production. So in 1954, the 356 Speedster was revealed. It was lightweight and ideal for both road and track.Owners could even remove the windscreen.

This 1956 356A Speedster is special for many reasons. It was the most basic, bare bones Porsche one could buy at the time. It was anything but safe, but it feels like a racing machine. It may have just 60 hp, but its overall simplicity and interaction with the driver make it a must-drive.
