Rinspeed prepares Tesla Model S-based autonomous concept for Geneva launch [videos]

Previewing the future

Rinspeed has released a comprehensive photo gallery along with details and videos about their latest concept which will be showcased a couple of weeks from now at the Geneva Motor Show.
Previewed towards the end of 2013, Rinspeed's XchangE concept is based on the Tesla Model S and represents a future autonomous vehicle with a specially developed cabin capable of providing a wide variety of seating positions. The car uses a next-gen scalable infotainment system created by Harman based on the HTML5 platform and sporting a 1.2 meter-wide display strip in the steering wheel support together with a gesture-controlled 32-inch 4K monitor in the back.
Another highlight of the concept is the Plexiglas roof with a "radiant" surface coating that will shimmer in all colors of the rainbow. There are no less than 358 individually-controlled LEDs in the headliner along with an additional 98 in the instrument panel. It has been fitted with a movable steering column as well as 20-inch Borbet alloys with a "Reflectic" finish.
