Packs 138 bhp and 205 Nm
Malaysian automaker Proton has taken the wraps off the Proton Suprima S Super Premium which comes with a sportier exterior appearance.
Proton has certainly evolved a great deal over the years in terms of design and their latest product proves this trend. Despite the rather awkward name, the Suprima S Super Premium is an appealing five-door hatchback fitted with an R3 body kit encompassing a redesigned front spoiler, side skirts, rear bumper along with 17-inch alloy wheels which have an anthracite look.
Power comes from a four-cylinder, 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine delivering 138 bhp (103 kW) at 5,000 rpm and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque between 2,000 rpm and 4,000 rpm. Output is transferred to the wheels through a seven-speed ProTronic CVT while Lotus was in charge of the car's ride and handling capabilities.
For safety the Proton Suprima S Super Premium comes as standard with traction control, ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), six airbags and a hill hold assist system. Inside it gets leather upholstery, push start button, cruise control, paddle shifters and a rearview camera.
