Automatic model costs an extra 1,100 USD
Volkswagen has introduced the 2014 Jetta TDI Value Edition in United States which is based on the Jetta S specification.
The budget-oriented Jetta starts at 21,295 USD and comes fitted with a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter TDI Clean Diesel engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox which enables the model to return 42 mpg US (50.4 mpg UK or 5.6 liters / 100 km) on the highway. For an additional 1,100 USD it can be configured with a six-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic gearbox.
The manual model is 2,330 USD cheaper than the Jetta TDI Clean Diesel and comes equipped with 16-inch steel wheels, electric power steering, heated cloth seats, cruise control, two extra speakers, SiriusXM Satellite Radio and Media Device Interface (MDI).
In related news, the Jetta has been awarded with a five-star rating by NTHSA, joining the Passat and Beetle models.
