Audi laser lights headed to production models, company says they will beat BMW to market.

Audi will race BMW to get laser lights into production

Audi holds lighting technology dear to their heart so it comes as little surprise that CEO Rupert Stadler has confirmed plans to put their laser headlights into production models.

Stadler declined to say when they would arrive but reiterated the 2014 R18 e-tron Quattrowill have laser headlights.

While Stadler was coy on details, Audi development boss Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg was blunt as he said "The future – and that’s what we talk about at CES - is in laser light." He went on to say "we will be the first car brand to put laser light into production."

If Hackenberg's claims are true, we can expect to see their laser lights soon as BMW has already announced the i8 will be offered with laser lights when it goes on sale later this year.
