Take a shot. It's not that hard to figure out.
2013 was a big year for new cars, but there was one in particular that stood out from all the rest. Think for a moment. Ready? It was the all-new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Big shocker, we know. And just as we’re only a few days away from the reveal of the next-gen Corvette Z06 and C7.R racing Vette at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, the Corvette Stingray beat fellow new GM models like the 2014 Cadillac CTS and Chevrolet Silverado for receiving the most awards.
Publications such as Automobile, Car and Driver, Forbes, Bloomberg, Kelly Blue Book and the Detroit Free Press all ranked the Corvette Stingray with titles such as “"Car of the Year," "10 Best," "Performance Car of the Year," and "Hottest New Car of the Year." The praise is guaranteed to continue in the years ahead for the Corvette Stingray as Chevrolet continues to develop its performance abilities even further, such as with the new Z06, as well as a successor to the C6 ZR1. Also in the pipeline is an upcoming eight-speed gearbox that will replace the Vette’s current six-speed automatic. Congratulations Chevy. You did a fine job.
