Mercedes-Benz won U.S. luxury sales battle against BMW in 2013.

Parted by 3,254 units

Mercedes-Benz managed to take the 2013 U.S. sales luxury crown by delivering 3,254 more units than archrival BMW.
The ongoing battle between Mercedes-Benz and BMW for the U.S. sales luxury supremacy has finalized another chapter as last year Mercedes-Benz sold 14 percent more cars compared to 2012 by managing to deliver 312,534 units, while BMW was short of 3,254 cars.
Daimler's Mercedes-Benz triumph has to do with the huge success the CLA – essentially an A-Class sedan - is enjoying, with Mercedes-Benz's USA CEO Steve Cannon previously saying it was the "best launch in 20 years." The result is also related to the success of the heavily facelifted E-Class and the all-new 2014 S-Class.
Although BMW lost, the Bavarian marque still had a pretty good year since sales rose by 10 percent to 309,280 units.
