The No-Holds-Barred Era of Italian Exotic Car Design.

They just don't style 'em like they used to.
Ferraris and Lamborghinis are still eye candy today, but there was a time when their designers were free from obstacles like strict safety regulations. Rear visibility? Not important, because styling mattered above all else. Just look at the Lamborghini Countach. Compare side by side 1970s era Lambos with today’s lineup. While still outrageous, the latest batch of fighting bulls from Sant’Agata almost looks relatively tame.

Exotics like the Maserati Merak, Lancia Stratos and the Ferrari Dino 246 wouldn’t stand a chance of making production today. And that’s why they need to be treasured. Classic Italian exotics sell for hundreds of thousands, and even into the millions of dollars at auctions every year for good reasons. Some argue they’re way overpriced, but anyone who knows anything about them will beg to differ. Bonkers classic Italian supercar design is worth every penny.
